Motivation and Scope:

To solve the global problem of traffic accident and congestion, excessive energy consumption, and automobile exhaust pollution caused by the increasing vehicles, both the academia and transportation sector are pushed to actively develop advanced intelligent vehicle (IV)-based solutions, involving ecological driving of IV, cooperative control of IVs and cooperative control between IV and road infrastructure. However, the characteristics of non-convexity, mixed integer, heterogeneity between IVs, and limited bandwidth of V2X communication network have brought great challenges to the aforementioned research of IVs.
This special session aims at bringing together the latest advances in the field of intelligent vehicle for solving the issues that arise in the research of ecological driving of IV, cooperative control of IVs and cooperative control between IV and road infrastructure. Researchers are invited to submit original papers that describe the latest results and advances in novel theories and their new applications within intelligent vehicles. The papers will be peer reviewed and selected on the basis of their quality and relevance to the topic of this special session.

Research topics for intelligent vehicles include but not limited to:
  1. Ecological driving
  2. Cooperative control
  3. Trajectory/path planning
  4. Artificial intelligence in autonomous driving
  5. Intelligent electrified vehicles
  6. Navigation and localization system
  7. Human factors and driver personalization
  8. Advanced sensing and perception
